About me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and specialize in treating anxiety. I graduated from Pacific University in 2011, focusing on mindfulness-based interventions, and have been licensed since 2013. I have a unique background with mindfulness having spent time contributing to the research on the subject, established a personal practice for over a decade, and have used mindfulness techniques in session with clients for the same amount of time. I also have an extensive background with group therapy, including facilitating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, chronic pain, stress-management, and positive psychology groups. I have run many of these groups weekly for close to a decade. I focus on individual therapy and bring my expertise of using short-term, evidence-based techniques to reduce distressing symptoms. At the same time, my ultimate goal in therapy is to make the experience collaborative and welcoming, thus tailoring treatment to the client.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, writing, photography, hiking, meditating, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am a regular guest on ABC/KATU’s AMNW where I highlight various mental health topics to the community. I also blog on a continual basis and maintain a strong social media presence, both of which discuss how to apply mental health principles in a simple, practical way. I am currently completing my first book and related online course bridging psychology and spirituality.
